Treasures in Heaven

I created this animation and music during a time when I was thinking about the relationship between money and my passions in life. If I did not have to think about money, then I could do all the things in life that I think is fun: music, art, philosophy, physics, mathematics, and so on. I would like to live a life that is fuelled by inspiration, not just think about what gives money. The first title of the animation was “From Tears to Gold”. But the I discovered that this was rather backwards! The gold did cover the art and the music, and art and music is exactly what I want in my life! So, I reversed the time, and it worked much better. So, the second title of the film was “From Gold to Tears”. However, this animation could not render on my old MacBook, so I had to wait until I had bought a new and faster computer. A few months later, when I had purchased my new computer, I started the rendering process again. While rendering the film, an event occurred that made me think I had lost a great amount of money. This made me a bit chocked, and for some reason I started to read in the bible in the section Matt 6 19-34. This section is about searching for treasures in heaven, not on earth. I realized that this text was a perfect match to my animation! Also, I later discovered that I did not lose my money, as I feared. The final title of the film is therefore “Treasures in Heaven”. Perhaps the tears symbolize tears of joy, not of sadness. And tears of joy must be much more valuable than gold, don’t you agree?

Blocks of Light

This film was my second animation in Blender. A further step towards uniting physics, music and art. The cubes are created using physical parameters such as emission, transparency and reflectivity. Yet, these cubes are of a kind that can not be found in our physical reality, a kind of border zone between physics and the world of dreams.

This was my first animation in the open source 3D rendering program called Blender. An exploration of the limits between fantasy and physical reality.

Beyond Words

This was my second film showing oil bar pantings together with music that I have created. In this film, I wanted to explore the ”undescribable” with both music and art.

In The Cloud

This film was a kind of starting point of this creative journey. It is about the longing after music, art and true science in a life filled with ”work”. I realized that, in order to make truly creative art, music and science, I first have to ”free my mind”. I need to follow my passion, not just follow what I think will bring my money.
